Cello Recital
French cellist Gautier Capuçon is in Shanghai preparing for two concerts at the Cadillac Shanghai Concert Hall later this week.
The cellist will be the first overseas artist to perform in Shanghai after China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism approved commercial performances from abroad last month.

A Shorn Root
On entering the solo exhibition of British artist Rachel Jones at Long Museum, viewers might be curious why there is no title displayed beside each work.
The answer is that the whole exhibition is all part of one artwork.
Titled "A Shorn Root," the exhibition featuring 20 paintings on canvas and the artist's signature sketches is the artist's first solo show in China.
The group of new paintings was made by Jones specifically for this exhibition.

Panda Roll
A group of pandas has arrived in Shanghai as the "Panda Roll" exhibition has debuted in east China.
Unveiled at the weekend at The Place mall, the highlight of the exhibition is a 2.3-meter-high, 4.8-meter-long giant panda who lies prone on a lawn at the exhibition's entrance.

Jianshui purple pottery
An exhibition featuring exquisite purple pottery masterpieces from Jianshui County in Yunnan Province opened on Saturday in downtown Shanghai's Yuyuan Garden Malls.
Jianshui purple pottery is one of the four most famous potteries in China and a national-level intangible cultural heritage.
Its history dates back 3,500 years, blending different art genres such as calligraphy, painting and ink, securing it a unique position in China's pottery culture and history.

Inward and Outward:
Reflections of a New Era of Artists
Thirty-six young artists, all of whom are graduates of the University of the Arts London, have their first domestic exhibition at the Theoretical Art Center in Deqiu Lixianggu Cultural and Creative Park in Minhang District.
Titled "Inward and Outward: Reflections of a New Era of Artists," the exhibition showcases more than 300 pieces of work.
The group of artists, who have experienced a wave of multicultural influences, pondered the connection between their introspection and the external world, and resorted to multimedia expressions to channel their rich responses.

A drama showcase and a jazz music festival will entertain visitors at Daning Plaza in Jing'an District.
Italian puppet band Grande Cantagiro Barattoli will make their Chinese debut at randomly chosen performing spots in Daning Plaza from April 20 to 22.
Music lovers can enjoy concerts by international bands and musicians during the plaza's jazz festival from April 30 to May 3.

Yummy Studio
"One Take," an immersive and interactive food-and-film drama from the "Yummy Studio" series, is staged at the You See Theater at People's Square.
This novel form of drama, "show with meals," is an innovative cross-border integration of performing arts and catering.
"One Take" is the first script in the "Yummy Studio" series. The story takes place in a Hong Kong-style tearoom, which triggers a series of interesting events on the set in order to finish filming "Once a Thief."

Anime
Have you ever heard of this awesome exhibition called "Anime" that is underway in Shanghai?
Some of the biggest names in anime art are showcased, including Godtail, Shun Nakao, Kamakiriko, Narcolepsy, and Maniko, among others. Fans of Japanese anime are familiar with the striking, big-eyed characters and slender bodies that are the embodiment of Japanese culture.
